Live throwing workshop & Q + A with Fenway Clayworks
We are really thrilled to have Willy and Sean of Fenway clayworks coming to city mud! Sean and Willy are both tremendously talented potters who create beautiful work together for Fenway. Fenway is based in Golden where they have a shop and studio space, and their work is all around Denver- Sacred Thistle, Beckon, Hearth, and many more. At city mud they will be throwing for us, talking about their experiences as potters, and answering any questions we may have! You can learn more about them here: https://fenwayclayworks.com
The workshop will be from 10-noon!
The workshop is $15 for members and $25 for non-members.
It will be on sale here on Wednesday, the 5th at 5pm
Give it a try nights
To hear when give it a try nights go on sale hop on our email list!
Our give it a try nights are a chance for people who are interested in learning how to throw on the wheel to try it out. Because learning to throw takes time, students shouldn’t expect to leave this class having made a beautiful pot, but they should expect to leave with a basic understanding of the steps involved in throwing on the potters wheel, as well as an idea of if its something they would like to take a longer class learning!
The classes are on Friday nights from 6-8:30pm, and dates are announced for the classes on our instagram towards the end of each month. We typically run two give it a try nights per month.
Our give it a try nights cost $80/person.
If a student decides to keep a pot they made at the event they are welcome to do so for an additional $10, and we will glaze and fire it for them! (this cost we don’t include in the class as not everyone has a pot they’d like to keep).
please note that these classes are non-refundable so make sure you can make it!
Workshops
We hold workshops at the studio every few months! What we offer is always changing, but a few of our past favorites were our flower arranging and vase making workshop with The Story of Flowers, our live throwing workshop with Kazu Oba, and our surface decoration workshop with Erica Passage.
Check back here to hear about upcoming ones as they roll in!
